This guide will tell you about how to use the webchat that is on sorcery.net's website.
First, follow this link: www.sorcery.net
Second, look to the left hand side of the screen. See that blue bar near the top that says "Main Menu"? Underneath of that you should see a blue dot with the words "Chat now" next to it. Click those words.
Once you have clicked "Chat now", it should bring you to an area that has a place for a couple of things you can type in.
The first one says Nickname: This is where you will enter the name of your wolf character. Please capitalize, and do not use username style nicks, as you will be asked to change those.
Underneath of Nickname, it says Channels: This is where you will enter #Loup (don't forget the # sign, otherwise you won't join the channel), which is our Out of Character channel.
Underneath of Channels it says NickServ Password (optional) : If this is your first time logging in, this is not something you need to worry about. If you've already registered your nick, and you use the sorcery.net webchat, I suggest using this handly little tool, so you don't have to type out the identify command.
Now that you're logged on, I'm going to give you the basic commands for the sorcery.net webchat.
/nick NewNick allows you to change your nickname.
/join #ChannelName allows you to join another channel.
/me is our roleplay command. This allows us to roleplay in the third person.
/Nickserv register (insert your password here) (insert your email here) will allow you to register your nick, so no one will be able to steal it. This does require you to have a valid email address, as Nickserv will then send you a confirmation 'number' that you have to give to complete nick registration.
/Nickserv id (your password) will "identify" you as the proper owner of the nick you logged in with, if you don't use the Nickserv Password option on the log-in page.
Some things you need to know about the webchat:
It has an automatic cut off point, where once you've typed so many words, it will cut you off. I don't know how to tell you where it may cut, but it will do it. My best suggestion to avoid this is to type out the longer stuff in notepad and then copy and paste what you've got to say. It's what I have to do, and it keeps people from having to wait on you to retype half or more of your post.
